Dr. Stefan Leu of our Ecosystem Restoration Initiative just returned from Amman, Jordan, where he participated in the Global Land Outlook Writeshop on Scaling up Sustainable Land Management, organized in collaboration with the UNCCD, the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Systems and ICARDA.
In the following interview, Dr. Leu discusses the devastating effect that goats can have on a dryland ecosystem, and how to manage goat herding and grazing sustainably. He also discusses the benefits of no-till agriculture, and the ways that these new agricultural management processes also contribute to economic sustainability.
