On November 16th, 35 female students from The Society for the Protection of Nature came for a one-day training at Project Wadi Attir around the topic of “sustainability for youth.” These young women are all volunteers at area schools, and came to the project for practical and professional training to help them teach students in a school where they volunteer.
The girls participated in a workshop on what plant need to grow. Another workshop focused on “who needs the plant,” which focused on a variety of species including bees, which made use of the project’s new apiary. This module also included a section about food security for humans, and the students planted seedlings and experimented with methods of agriculture.
The students expressed that Project Wadi Attir, whose staff is made up of a number of Bedouin women in leadership roles, is a great pride for all Arab women.
